n celebrating its 51st Founder’s Day, Hard Rock Hotel Bali, in collaboration with field workers and band members, cleaned up Kuta Beach and planted mangroves to take part in preserving nature.

Hard Rock Hotel Bali, along with 55 field from Kuta Environmental and Cleanliness Service (DLHK) and 25 band members from Hard Rock Hotel were engaged in cleaning up Kuta Beach on the morning of June 14.

The hotel management expressed their appreciation to the hard-working field workers for demonstrating dedication and resilience in maintaining the cleanliness of Kuta Beach for years, even under the impact of COVID-19.

Following the clean-up activity, Hard Rock Hotel Bali and about 25 band members from the hotel participated in planting 75 seedlings of Rhizophora, also known as a red mangrove, in Wanasari Mangrove Forest on June 16.

Mangroves have long been known for their extraordinary ability in storing organic carbon more than most other trees; this makes mangroves one of the valuable assets in the fight against global warming. Mangroves can also reduce shoreline erosion, thus protecting coastal communities against flooding and tsunamis.

“Founders Day is a yearly celebration marking the opening of the first Hard Rock Cafe five decades ago. We take this opportunity to acknowledge the hard work of the local hero at Kuta Environmental and Cleanliness Service to keep the beach clean,” said Hard Rock Hotel Bali general manager Shane Coates.

“The band members devote their time to help improve our environment, living up to one of the brand’s mottos – ‘Save the Planet’,” he remarked.
