usicians complaining about Republican Party politicians using their music has been a perpetual story. At least 35 artists have fought politicians over the use of their music, according to Rolling Stone.
The latest case involved Queen, who immediately complained after Donald Trump took the stage at the Republican National Convention on July 18 to the sound of the band's We Are the Champions.
A recent episode of news satire show Last Week Tonight with John Oliver features an interesting take on this matter by rounding up famous musicians including Usher, Josh Groban, Sheryl Crow, Michael Bolton and Cyndi Lauper to sing a song called Don’t Use Our Songs.

The parody song makes it abundantly clear that the musicians are tired of having their music used without permission. “Stop using our music, that’s the one and only rule/ We didn’t write these songs to make your campaign stop seem cool," they sing as reported by eonline.com.
Just in case the message is not clear enough, the musicians humorously add, “Just to be clearer/ You can’t use this song either”.
