Beloved Indonesian comic character Si Juki will be immortalized in a feature animation movie titled Si Juki The Movie.
The character, created by Faza Meonk, is well known among local teenagers. The film is slated for release in 2017. Faza, who will also direct the movie, said the story will definitely be more exciting compared to the comics.
“The story is more epic in the movie in comparison to the books. In the books, it’s mostly daily stories,” he told kompas.com at the 2016 PopCon Asia event on Sunday.

A number of Indonesian celebrities will lend their voices to the upcoming movie, although there are no details yet. Frederika, the producer of Si Juki The Movie, said the movie would involve a number of popular professional actors in Indonesia.
“We can’t share the names publicly just yet.”
Daryl Wilson, an animator for Si Juki The Movie, will rise to the challenge of animating a feature film.
“The biggest challenge is Juki’s expression as his eyes always goes sideways, left and right. It’s a challenge to show different expressions, from angry to happy,” he said. (asw)
