idnight University is not your typical Thai horror film with demonic elements of the supernatural haunting the main characters. This film incorporates comedy with the horror, so it is not too scary for those who dislike watching the genre, however those who are thrill-seekers may find it a bit relaxing also.
Directed by Krisada Kanivichaporn, Piyabutr Atisook and Kanin Koonsumitawong, the film follows a school celebrity named Star (Rasri Balenciaga) who has minions following her everywhere. Being close to graduation, she finds out she will not be graduating because she failed a class. In effort to convince the dean to let her graduate, he permits her to retake the test by going to night classes at an education center that is said to be haunted.

Those who died before graduating seem to wonder around the education center as ghostly presences, and there are many who try to expose this truth but end up mentally scarred. As her friends abandoned her because they are not required to retake the test, she garners new friendships from her classmates retaking the test with her. This group of unlikely friends then take the test together, even if it means they are surrounded by ghosts.
Overall, this movie is a beautiful story of unlikely friendships, loyalty and redemption. The comedy itself is astounding with the amount of screams that is mixed with laughter. (kha/kes)
