ollowing its success on the Golden Globe stage, securing seven awards including Best Musical or Comedy Motion Picture, the soundtrack of musical film La La Land has danced its way from the fifteenth to the second spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
According to Antara news agency, The Weeknd's Starboy remained on top of the chart thanks to its earning of 63,000 album units in the week ending Jan. 12, while La La Land leaped to the runner-up spot with 42,000 units.

Right behind La La Land in the third, fourth and fifth spots are Disney’s Moana soundtrack with 39,000 units, Bruno Mars' 24K Magic with 36,000 units and J. Cole's 4 Your Eyez Only with 30,000 units.
The Billboard 200 chart rates the most popular album of the week in the United States according to multi-metric consumption, meaning that it includes traditional album sales, Track Equivalent Albums (TEA) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (SEA).
Directed by Damien Chazelle, La La Land is set to shine once more in the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) slated on Feb. 12, having earned 11 nominations. (wir/kes)
