Buying some food and drink while waiting for artists to perform at the Java Jazz Festival requires a little extra effort this year around, thanks to the sponsoring bank.
The annual Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival is about more than just music.
It has always been a great place to mingle with friends and family members with its variety of culinary options usually located in JIExpo exhibition hall in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, its regular venue.
This year, however, enjoying some food while waiting for artists to perform requires a little extra effort on the part of visitors.

Bank Nasional Indonesia (BNI), one of the main sponsors of the festival, literally forces visitors to purchase their electronic money card.
Any transactions, no matter how small, can only be paid using the BNI electronic money card.
To get the card, visitors must pay at least Rp 100,000 (US$7.5) at the BNI card counters located in front of the plaza.
Rp 75,000 of the Rp 100,000 will be credited to the card to buy food and drink, while BNI keeps Rp 25,000 to cover the costs of issuing the card.
Visitors cannot get a refund for remaining credit on their card after they purchase food and drink. (ika)
