Analyzing the photo reveals a few differences with actor Ron Perlman’s version of the red demon. First, the new Hellboy appears more battle-scarred. His massive right hand is also less rounded and looks more like a metal gauntlet. The horn stubs also appear to be more irregular. Overall, the new Hellboy looks somewhat grittier.
A previous report cited a controversy regarding actor Daniel Dae Kim who was initially cast as the character Skein. Dae was said to have quit the project to allow for an actor of Asian decent to fill the role, since the character is Asian-American, based on the comic books.
“Hellboy” the reboot’s release date is yet to be announced.
