IBCO Software Inc. and the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand data analytic capabilities and knowledge in Indonesia on Tuesday.

TIBCO Software Inc. is an American company that provides integration, API management and analytics.

Following the MoU, all ITB’s School of Business Management (SBM) students will have access to the TIBCO Connected Intelligence platform, allowing them to receive hands-on practice with TIBCO tools, as well as support for various data analytic techniques to understand and predict customer behavior.

Furthermore, these students will also be equipped with relevant data skill sets through guest lectures, seminars, networking sessions with experts in the data analytics field and relevant training modules.

The collaboration itself aims to empower students with technological skills essential for their careers after graduation.

“Digital technology plays a major role in Indonesia’s economic development, but growth is hindered by a wide data and technology skills gap. Close collaboration between universities and companies in the industry is essential in imparting expertise,” said Prof. Sudarso Kaderi Wiryono, the dean of SBM ITB, in a press release.

“Together with TIBCO, the ITB will train and empower a pool of talented and skilled graduates in the data analytics space, in turn allowing Indonesian businesses to change how customers experience a product or service,” added Sudarso. (jes/kes)
