lek Yo, a band made of Cabinet ministers, is slated to perform at Java Jazz Festival 2018, which will be held at JI Expo Kemayoran in Central Jakarta from March 2 until 4.

Kompas.com reported that Elek Yo, which comprises Creative Economy Agency (BEK) head Triawan Munaf, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Public Works and Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, Foreign Minister Retno  Lestari Priansari Marsudi and Presidential Chief of Staff Teten Masduki, will perform cover songs on Friday from 8:30 p.m., for over 30 minutes.

In addition to the cover songs, Elek Yo will also collaborate with pop-folk duo Endah N Rhesa.

Java Production program team Nikita Dompas said the collaboration was based on the request of Elek Yo.

“[Elek Yo] feels comfortable in collaborating with Endah n Rhesa,” said Nikita.

The Cabinet ministers first showed off their musical prowess during the wedding reception of State Secretary Pratikno’s daughter at the Jogja Expo Center in December. During the event, the band reportedly performed a number of popular songs, including Slank’s "Ku Tak Bisa" (I Can’t), which was requested by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo. (jes/mut)
