Along with the advantage of better body strength, weight training is considered to have an impact on self-confidence.
Samantha Clayton, a former athlete and director of Worldwide Fitness Education Herbalife Nutrition, said a strong body and firm muscles are becoming new symbols of appearance for men and women.
“When planing your exercise schedule, the main priority should be your health. A positive impact on your appearance is a bonus,” she said, as quoted by Antara.
As personal trainer for Cristiano Ronaldo, she presented other reasons why you should consider adding weight training to your exercise routine:
More calories burned
By adding weight training and becoming stronger, your body will experience a transformation.
People with more muscle mass burn more calories during rest. This is because the body needs energy to maintain muscle mass, called the resting metabolic rate, or the energy required to stay alive with no activity.

Improved bone density
Weight training has big advantages for bone health for people of all ages.
Aging comes with the risk of bone density loss, with higher risks of bone fracture. Consider carefully before adding your extra weight in training, as your bones depend on their strength when exercising.
Improve body performance
When your body is used to weight training, it is easier for it to sustain its own weight. Improved body strength would also mean your daily activities become easier.
Samantha said with a stronger body you will gain advantages.
Adding weight training to your exercise routine two or three times a week accompanied by protein-rich intake will help in gaining a healthy body.
“Do not be scared of weight training. But make sure you start right and choose the right weight according to your strength. You need to know your own strength,” said Samantha. “Another important tip is you need to stay hydrated during exercise.” (wng)
