T

he name of the newest addition to the British royal family was finally revealed after a few days. The third child of Prince William and Kate Middleton is named Louis Arthur Charles, with the full title His Royal Highness Prince Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge.

He will not carry a surname, as his two older siblings and father. His birth certificate, as Harper’s Bazaar reported, includes his name and royal title.

While the infant prince's name certainly has ties to the royal family, some avid Harry Potter fans pointed out that the name might be linked to J.K. Rowling's magical world. This has drawn a flurry of social media attention as the surmised link between the prince and the much-loved series went somewhat viral.

“Louis Arthur Charles, you were named after three iconic Weasleys,” the Pottermore account tweeted following the announcement of the prince's name, referencing one of Harry Potter's most famous lines in the final scene of the final book.

Most Harry Potter fans recognized Arthur and Charlie: Arthur as the head of the Weasley family and Charlie the second-born son studying dragons in Romania.

But what about Louis? Only die-hard web-surfing fans would recognize Louis as Bill and Fleur’s son, who was born after the events in the books and was thus mentioned only in the Weasley family tree.

The tweet has gained more than 15,000 likes, with many fans joining in and passing light-hearted comments. “The Weasley family approves,” one poster wrote, while another commented, “Holy Hogwarts!” (ely/mut)
