t may be time to put all the news about the Facebook data-mining scandal in the past. It seems that Mark Zuckerberg has kept his word, as Facebook has continued to take steps to improve its services.
The online social media and social networking service company has announced that it is developing a new tool that will help Facebook users monitor the amount of time they spend on the app.
Right now, the tool itself is hidden in the depths of the Facebook Android app, and is confirmed to still be in development. Also known as “Your Time on Facebook”, this tool will tell users how much time they spend on Facebook in a week.
A user will be able to set a time limit of their choice and a time alert will notify the user once they exceed it. Some people are speculating that the tool might also be able to lock the user out from the app after exceeding the time limit.
According to a Facebook representative, the goal of this new feature is to “help make sure people’s time on Facebook is well spent.” The new feature is expected to help Facebook users stay mindful over the amount of time they spend on the social network.
