Ticket details and venues have yet to be announced.

The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, is known for hits such as “Can’t Feel My Face” and “Starboy”. He broke into the music industry with his House of Balloons mixtape in 2011. Featured by fellow Canadian rapper/singer Drake and then releasing his first solo album, Beauty Behind the Madness (2015), the singer went on to work with electronic duo Daft Punk on his second album, Starboy (2016). His latest album, My Dear Melancholy, was released earlier this year.

The singer, who once said his biggest influence was Michael Jackson, has received three Grammy Awards, including Best Urban Contemporary Album for Starboy. He was nominated for an Academy Award in Best Original Song in 2016, for the song “Earned It” in Fifty Shades of Grey.

In early August, The Weeknd and Japanese clothing brand A Bathing Ape launched their multi-product capsule. It features T-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, sweat shorts and a work jacket emblazoned in camouflage pattern. (wng)
