Sri Widowati steps down as Facebook Indonesia's country director

According to Facebook, Sri Widowati resigned from her position because she wanted to develop her career outside the social network giant.

Sri "Wido" Widowati has officially stepped down as Facebook Indonesia’s country director after three years.

“We express our gratitude [to Wido] for the impact she has made over the last three years in executing Facebook’s programs in Indonesia,” said a spokesperson in a statement quoted by Antara on Thursday.

According to Facebook, Wido resigned from her position because she wanted to develop her career outside the social network giant. It gave no information what she would do.

Wido had been working in the marketing industry for more than 20 years, including at prominent manufacturer Unilever.

She was appointed as Facebook’s country director in 2016 replacing Anand Tilak. (wir/kes)
