Rex Orange County is set to perform at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, on May 9, 2020.

Promoter Ismaya Live announced the news on Instagram on Thursday.

“After releasing his acclaimed third studio album Pony in October, the Surrey-based singer/songwriter is set to take love songs to new heights with his lo-fi textures and hi-def emotions at #ROCJKT!”, the caption read.

Rex Orange County is the stage name of English musician Alexander O’Connor. Growing up while listening to the music of Queen, ABBA, Stevie Wonder, Weezer and Green Day, the 21-year-old musician taught himself to play drums and piano before picking up the guitar at the age of 16.

He began releasing songs as Rex Orange County in 2015 and made a breakthrough shortly after, being labeled one of the most promising music prodigies on the internet.

In October, he released his third studio album, Pony.

The Jakarta show will be his first performance in Indonesia. (gis/wng)
