The program, called #SemuaBisaZenius (everybody can be a genius), aims to grant free access to all students, teachers and education practitioners nationwide.

Launched in 2004, Zenius has helped Indonesian students to develop both their academic and soft skills.

“Nearing the end of 2019, we are happy to announce the #SemuaBisaZenius program in which the Zenius study videos can be accessed freely. Our hope is for Zenius to provide bigger and deeper benefits, and for these benefits to reach a broader range of students, learners, teachers and education practitioners all around Indonesia,” said Sabda PS, co-founder of Zenius Education.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Zenius stated its technology-based education approach, which is focusing on conceptual understanding and the formation of the students’ reasoning power, as opposed to the learning-memorizing approach.

Zenius Education's chief of education initiatives, Amanda Witdamono, said the distribution of teaching resources and learning materials were two of the challenges in Indonesia as a maritime country.

Data from the Education and Culture Ministry in 2018 showed that the ratio of teachers to students in Indonesia was still far from ideal.

“By opening study video access as wide as possible for the nation’s children, hopefully both students and learners are able to study according to their interests and talents,” Amanda said. (vel/wng)
