JAKARTA: Singer Maia Estianti received an "inspiring woman" award Tuesday, which she dedicated to her husband, musician Ahmad Dhani, and three sons.
"I presented the award to my husband and my sons, Al, El and Dul. I hope the award gives me positive energy and inspires others," Maia said during the award ceremony titled "A Tribute to Women", which was held by Antara news agency.
Maia, whose new duet album with Mei Chan is currently in the top ten of the country's music charts, said Dhani, the leader of Dewa 19 band, was still her husband despite the fact they were going through a divorce in court.
"Right now, I'm still Maia Ahmad. My love for him is still there. Dhani is my husband, my teacher and the father of my three sons," she said.
Maia was one of 10 women who received an award. The other women included Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, batik businesswoman Diana Santosa, environmentalist Ligaya Ita Tumbelaka, scientist Mirza Dikari Kusrini, announcer Meuthia Kasim, film producer Mira Lesmana, labor activist Dita Indah Sari, writer Ayu Utami and young chess master Irene Kharisma Sukandar.--JP
