JAKARTA: Ahmad Dhani, the leader of popular band Dewa 19 and producer for female acts like Reza Artamevia, Agnes Monica, Dewi Dewi and the now-defunct duo Ratu and its former member Mulan Jameela, says he plans to promote Cinta Laura.
"(I will do it) but not in the near future ... I'm still busy with The Rock, Dewi Dewi and Dewa," he was quoted as saying by Detik.com.
Cinta, 14, a TV soap artist who was catapulted to stardom by her trademark foreign accent, is said to have already made a few recordings with Dhani, who owns Republik Cinta Management.
Dhani believes that Cinta, who appeared in a catwoman costume in Mulan Jameela's video clip, "Wonderwoman", has talent and, with regular practice could be a great singer within a few years.
"Mulan was nothing when she was 14," Dhani said, praising Cinta. -- JP
