JAKARTA: Fans of actor Ari Wibowo will not see the face of the German-born actor in future Indonesian sinetron (TV soap operas), as he has said he is quitting to focus on being a father.
"I'm not interested in acting in sinetron anymore. It wastes too much of my time. I will be very selective in accepting future jobs," Ari, who has acted in 19 different sinetron, was quoted as saying by okezone.com on Thursday.
The 38-year-old actor, who moved to Indonesia when he was 10, said his retreat from the TV soap-opera world was part of his new life as a father to Kenzo Wibowo, who was born on Feb. 2, 2008.
"My life has changed, it's time for me to focus on my family. I don't want to miss any beautiful moments with my son," said the man who married Inge Anugrah on July 7, 2006.
However, the former red-belt holder in Taekwondo said he would still accept film roles but would be careful when choosing them.-- JP
