Marcell to tie the knot, again

MARCELL: (JP/Arief Suhardiman)

JAKARTA: A few months after ending his seemingly fine-and-blissful marriage with pop literature author Dewi Lestari, R&B singer Marcell Siahaan is set to marry his current partner, Singaporean-based artist Rima Melati Adams.

“(In) my previous entry on (‘Mohon Maaf’), I declined that Marcell and me were getting married. I have to take that back. The current rumor is true. But just very recent ... Caught me by surprise as well. Marcell and me have decided to tie the knot,” Rima wrote on her blogspot.

“I remembered telling a friend who wanted to get married knowing her current husband for less than a year. ‘Babe, how can you get married so soon? Don’t you think its ... too fast?  You only knew the guy less than a year?’. Well look at them now ... married for over seven years with three boys and one more on the way,” she said.

“Now I truly know what she meant,” she says.

She added the date for the wedding had yet to be set.

Marcell and Dewi, who recently married therapist Reza Gunawan in Australia, divorced in September. They had one son together.

Marcell, who was once the drummer for underground rock band Puppen, is known for his duet with VJ-cum-singer Shanty, “Hanya Memuji” (Just Praising). — JP
