EMARANG, C. Java: Pujiono Cahyo Puji Widianto, alias Syech Puji, the owner of the Miftahul Jannah Muslim boarding school in Bedono, Jambu district, Semarang, has filed a lawsuit against an NGO coordinator who reported Syech Puji's marriage with an underage girl, Ulfa, on Aug. 8, 2008.

The first hearing for the case was held at the Semarang District Court on Tuesday, where Syech Puji was represented by 10 lawyers, known as the Islam Sharia Enforcement Team. Four of the 10 were present at the trial.

In the lawsuit, Syech Puji demanded that Legiyanto, the coordinator of the NGO Kompak, apologize and pay compensation of Rp 15 billion (US$1.36 million) for reporting the marriage to the authorities.
