Jakarta: Pop-rockers Gigi are set to celebrate their 15th anniversary as a group with the release of a new album and biography next month.

“We never thought that we would come this far. Soon we will release our new album and a biography,” Gigi’s vocalist Armand Maulana told Antara in Bandung, West Java on Sunday.

Armand said the launch of the band’s biography and its 17th album would be part of 15th anniversary celebrations on March 22.

Fans should not miss the biography, which will include a DVD featuring live footage of the band and several previously unreleased songs.

The biography, Armand said, is a portrait of the band’s ups

and downs.

“We are proud to have been around for 15 years and it is only possible with the support of our fans,” said Armand.

The pop rock band, which calls their fans GigiKita, was formed in Bandung on March 22, 1994 by Armand Maulana, Aria Baron, Thomas Ramdhan, Ronald Fristianto and Dewa Budjana.

The band has changed line-up several times and currently consists of Armand Maulana (vocalist), Dewa Budjana (guitarist), Thomas Ramdhan (bassist), and Gusti Hendy (drummer). — JP
