JAKARTA: Java Jazz is a festival for all, including for singer Glenn Fredly, who will sing for late music legend Chrisye.

Glenn will be the main performer in a special show called “A Tribute for Chrisye” on Saturday, March 7, at 8 p.m. The show is to be a celebration of Chrisye, who died in March 2007.

“I’m going to sing several of Chrisye’s songs in the show, as a tribute to him, along with other singers,” said the Ambonese pop sensation.

Rehearsals for the show, which will also feature newcomers RAN, have been going on for weeks, Glenn said.

But for Glenn, there will be no duet with his wife, Dewi Sandra. Instead, he will bring some of his fellow Ambonese singers to the Java Jazz stage.

Glenn, a fan of Chrisye, has been performing tributes to his idol since last year in several venues. —JP
