Agnes returns with new look, new album

JAKARTA: Singer Agnes Monica has always been one to grab attention, and now that she’s back with a new album, she’s doing it in a whole new style.
With a trendy short hairstyle, she shows off the new Agnes with her latest album Sacredly Agnezious – a name quite as provocative as the new look.
“‘Sacredly’ means something sacred or authentic, while ‘Agnezious’ is the ‘adjective’ for Agnes,” she says. “So, I can say that Sacredly Agnezious means ‘it’s all about me’.”
And since it’s all about her, Agnes considers the new album to be her true masterpiece. She even took on the role of producer for the album to make sure it suited her taste.
However, she says, “I’m not that idealistic. I’m keeping in balance with what my fans want because they are the ones who listen [to my music].”
In a bid to be more creative this time, Agnes released her new album in two versions.
“The first version has 10 songs, while the other one has 13, and each has a different packaging concept from the other,” the 23-year-old says. — JP
