e'd like to draw your attention to an article in the May 1, 2009 edition of The Jakarta Post titled "Investors firm on shoes". We assume this article was based on interviews conducted at the opening of the ILF expo and National Convention of APRISINDO on April 30, 2009, at the JIExpo in Kemayoran.
We highly regard and appreciate the Post's coverage, however there is a part of the article which is misleading. The part that says: "For Nike's upcoming orders, the company offers a price of US$15 per pair of shoes to Indonesian shoe maker, PT Adis Dimension Footwear (ADF), located in Tangerang, Banten, where Djimanto is one of the commissioners. Speculation is rife that Adis plans to increase its capacity with an estimated investment of more than $600 million."
This part of the report will cause serious damage to business relations between related parties as it is invalid and erroneous.
APRISINDO hereby affirms that Djimanto, our advisory board member, is not a commisioner or board member of PT ADF. Thence he is not in any way in position to disclose any business dealings between PT ADF and Nike. Djimanto also refutes the reference made to him as source of the said part of the article.
We expect that this misreporting will be rectified by your reporter in a written acknowledgement of the innaccuracy to us, so we can settle the misunderstanding between related parties.
