The world renowned Irish beer, Guinness, is celebrating its 250 years of brewing. The celebration will be held in Dublin, the home of the founder, Arthur Guinness, and cities ground the world, including Jakarta, which is remarkably the biggest market in Asia.

"Arthur's Day" on Sept. 24, this year will be the peak of the celebrations taking place in New York and Kuala Lumpur.

Since 1974, its market in Indonesia has grown. Indonesia is currently the biggest market in Asia and sixth in the world for Guinness, after England, Ireland, Nigeria, USA, and Cameroon.

"As Guinness marks its 250th year, Indonesia takes a lead role in the global celebrations," said John Galvin, the Guinness representative in Indonesia.

Fergal Murray, the Master Brewer of Guinness from Ireland, visited Jakarta on May 14 for the celebration.

"Drinking is an art, an experience. So you have to stand tall when you drink it," he said.

Guinness has six fundamental things in that dark, ruby red beer.

"Roasted barley, the yeast to make a different cream, hops to make the flavor on the back of your throat, special brew, and beautiful creamy head," the master brewer said.

Now, Guinness is also produced in Indonesia among 50 other factories around the world. Back in the day, Arthur signed 9,000 year lease on the St. James's Gate brewery in 1759. During that year, the son of a priest built the four acres brewery and consists of a copper, a kieve, a mill, two malthouses, stabling for 12 horses and a loft to hold 200 tons of hay. At that time, Arthur begins brewing porter and ale. At this moment, 250 years after that, the factory turned into Ireland's top tourist attraction, The Guinness Storehouse, the seven-storey museum at St James's Gate that pays homage to the history of the drink.

At that latitude, on 17:59 (Dublin time), the 250th anniversary will take place. Live music and entertainment will come from some of the world's biggest names in music, including the Black Eyed Peas, DJ and producer David Holmes, Estelle, and Kasabian. In Asia, the Black Eyed Peas will perform in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

When Arthur Guinness died in 1803, the legacy of the brewing technique was given to his family. Murray, one of his followers, said his brewery is brilliant.

"We are celebrating a remarkable man, with remarkable vision, remarkable beer, and remarkable story."
