SURABAYA: The East Java Transportation Agency announced Tuesday it was preparing facilities to launch in July a train serving the Surabaya-Mojokerto route.
Sugeng Prijono, spokesman for state railway operator PT Kereta Api's (KAI) Surabaya office, said no date had been set yet for the launch.
He confirmed the transportation agency had told KAI the train would be launched in July, but added there were still some facilities yet to be constructed, including stations along the proposed route.
The agency is now in the process of building eight stations.
The train, with five cars, will be able to carry 750 passengers. -JP
