JAKARTA: After enjoying a successful career in modeling and acting, the 2005 Putri Indonesia winner Nadine Chandrawinata has decided to throw herself into a line of business she would be expected to know about: beauty salons.
“I’m currently setting up a salon in the Pondok Indah area as a small gallery and will also be selling beauty products for women,” the 25-year-old half-German says, as quoted by Indonesiaselebriti newsportal.
“I hope [it] can be launched as soon as possible,” she adds.
Actually, Nadine confesses she isn’t really the “salon-type” girl, but decided to enter the industry after realizing how many of her friends loved to spoil themselves at salons.
“I’m not a salon addict; I’m more someone who loves outdoor activities,” she says. “But there are just so many people around me who love to go to salons and they always ask me to go with them.”
While she admits salons are not really her scene, she does want to make sure her future customers are well looked after and given top beauty treatments.
“I will make sure they feel at home in my salon,” she says. “And yes, without a doubt, my salon will have a distinctive Indonesian touch.” — JP
