resident Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono received credentials from five ambassadors from European and African countries on Friday morning at the State Palace.
The five ambassador are Belgian Ambassador to Indonesia Christiaan Tanghe, Swedish Ambassador Ewa Ulrika Polano, German Ambassador Norbert Baas, Hungarian Ambassador Szilveszter Bus and Mozambican Ambassador Carlos Agostinho do Rosario.
Tanghe was former ambassador to Philippines from 2002-2005 before being assigned to Indonesia. His last position was director for Southeast Asia and head of Asia Pacific department at the foreign ministry. He holds postgraduate degrees in economics and European studies.
A former ambassador to Mexico, Polano started her career with the foreign ministry in 1980 as a third secretary of the Swedish Embassy in The Hague. She then moved around to Hanoi, Vietnam, Kuwait, Baghdad, Bissau, Buenos Aires, Damascus and Bonn.
She holds a degree in international politics from Swedish University.
Baas was a former ambassador to Georgia (1995-1998) and South Korea (2006-2009). He holds a doctoral degree in history from European University Institute Florence. He started his career with the foreign ministry in 1978.
Bus was a former director general for American affairs at the foreign ministry.
He is a graduate from the University of International Relations, Moscow, and joined the foreign service in 1991. He is fluent in English, Swedish, German and Russian.
Rosario was a former minister of agriculture and fisheries and governor of Province Zambezia-Mozambique. His last position before assuming the ambassadorial post was as Mozambican high commissioner to India and Sri Lanka.
