AKARTA: Indonesia was denied title contention in the men's singles after Simon Santoso and Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka lost in their quarterfinal matches at the Hong Kong Super Series badminton tournament on Friday.
Simon went down 21-12, 21-8 to third seed Peter Gade of Denmark while Rumbaka exited with a 21-15, 21-15 loss to Bao Chunlai.
Indonesia is assured of a place in the mixed doubles final after Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir and Hendra Apriadi Gunawan/Vita Marissa were through to meet each other in the semifinals.
