AKARTA: The Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Indonesia's largest Muslim organization, has decided the Islamic Day of Sacrifice, or Idul Adha, will be celebrated on Nov. 27, while the government has yet to announce its date for the holiday pending a meeting with various Muslim organizations.
"Today *Wednesday*, we have entered the month of Dzulhijjah," Ahmad Izzuddin of the NU Central Java chapter told tempointeraktif.com Wednesday. He said a number of moon-sighting observations confirmed the decision. In the Islamic calendar, Idul Adha falls on the 10th day of Dzulhijjah.
