n addition to obvious travel destinations in Malaysia, visiting different exhibitions taking place in different cities in the country next week could be a good way to spend some of your vacation time.
The first exhibition to look forward to is the "Guangzhou Art Sensation: An Exhibition by Renowned Guangzhou Artists", the title of which is self explanatory. Scheduled from Dec. 13 to 27 at the Floor Exhibition Hall of Wisma Kebudayaan SGM, Bukit Bintang, the exhibition is a celebration of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations.
Guangzhou, situated in the southern part of China, was the fi rst port of call on the Silk Road by sea. With China rising to become a major force in the world's economy, Guangzhou became an important part of the country's culture and history.
Aimed at artistic exchanges and building a bridge for friendship and peace between the two countries, the exhibition features six Guangzhou artists, namely Chen Yongkang, Chen Yongqiang, Lu Yanguang, Zhou Guocheng, Qu Guangan and Fang Tu
With paintings of Chinese landscapes, fl ora, birds and portraits of Guangzhou people, their works pass on Chinese tradition to future generations. The exhibition is open to the public and is free of charge.
The 6th China Import and Export Commodities Exhibition 2009 is also an interesting event to attend. Scheduled to take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) on Dec 17 to 20, the exhibition will aim at accelerating trade between ASEAN countries.
Providing a platform to encourage bilateral economic and trade relations, the event will also exhibit the latest products and advance technologies from China. Organized by the Chinese Foreign Trade Center, the exhibition will present different companies focusing on machinery and electronics, cars and motorcycles parts, pumps and valves, household goods, home appliances, stainless steel products, bamboo products, building and decoration materials, sanitary wares, electrical engineering and much more.
