JAKARTA: This year comes to a disappointing end for rock band Slank as the police has not given them permission to go ahead with their anniversary concert.
"We decided to cancel the concert. We've tried obtaining permission from the police but they have refused, to letus go ahead, claiming it's a security policy matter," band drummer Bimo Setiawan Sidharta or Bimbim said, as quoted by entertainment newsportal kapanlagi.com on Thursday.
Slank was scheduled to hold their anniversary concert on Dec. 26 at Central Jakarta's Kemayoran Jakarta Fair Exhibition Ground. This was reportedly their eighth concert canceled this year for the same reason.
"To say that we're disappointed is an understatement. We're stressed out. We've been rehearsing day in day out for this," Bimbim said.
"In Greater Jakarta alone, this is the eighth time we cannot get permission. We feel insulted." - JP
