7 kilograms of gold stolen in Bekasi

JAKARTA: A gang of robbers looted 7 kilograms of gold and Rp 20 million (US$2,140) in cash from a jewelry store in Cibitung, Bekasi, on Monday.
The robbers rode motorbikes and fired guns at the King jewelry shop in Pamorwanasari market, Bekasi, before taking off with the gold and money.
"It happened at 11 a.m. There were 10 robbers with bikes and their faces were covered with their helmets," Bekasi Police chief Sr. Comr. Hery Wibowo told detik.com.
Hery said the police had gathered information from 8 witnesses so far in their investigations.
The police had found what they believed was a 38-caliber revolver and six cartridges at the crime scene. - JP
