AKARTA: Baridin Latif, former father in law of the late Noordin M. Top was summoned to give a testimony for the defendant Syaefudin Zuhri in a hearing session held at the South Jakarta District Court on Monday.

This was the first time Baridin has appeared in public since he was arrested in Garut, West Java, last year.

During the hearing, Baridin acknowledged that he was related to Zuhri through marriage.

Zuhri was arrested by special Detachment of Counterterrorism 88 in Cilacap, a few weeks before the July 17 hotel blast last year.

Dozens were injured and nine were killed in the bombing.

Zuhri was allegedly linked to the terrorist cell led by Fajar Taslim, a Singaporean who was punished to 19 years of imprisonment for various terror attacks in cities around Sumatra.
