AKARTA: The steering committee for the upcoming national soccer congress in Malang, East Java, plans to invite the representatives of world's soccer authority bodies, FIFA and AFC, to the March 30-31 event.
"Based on our internal discussion, we plan to invite envoys of FIFA and AFC," head of the steering committee for the congress Sumohadi Marsis said Tuesday. "They will provide suggestions to help improve soccer in the country."
Also Tuesday, Sumohadi met staff members of Sports Minister Johar Arifin at the ministry to express concern over the presence of the Indonesian Soccer Association (PSSI)'s officials in the congress's organizing committee, which also includes envoys of the ministry, the National Sports Council (KONI) and the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI).
