ast Friday when we came back from the Pondok Indah Mall 2, I flipped through a free magazine my teenage daughter had picked up from a donut shop.
The cover yells "hers magazine, women's guide to better living" and has a big Metro big sale logo on it. It was just a pictorial magazine with nothing notable to read, so I thought, until I stumbled upon an article titled "Love routine you should try every night".
My eyes popped wide open and I was jolted from my midday indolence when I read the sub-titles of the articles, to name a few, Erotic Bliss Riding, The Oral Rollercoaster, The Wow Pumping, and more.
The detailed manual in Indonesian language followed under each title and, to say the least it was quite educational even for a mother like me. But I am horrified by the fact that such a material is handed out free at places where kids including underage ones commonly hang out.
Call me old fashioned but I honestly am not aware that Indonesia has become so culturally "advanced" that now children can have free access to soft porn even in donut shops or what have you.
As a concerned mother, I would personally wish that the management of the mall or malls would exercise more prudence. The article itself was apparently sponsored by a condom company and if I may let my cynicism get the best of me, I'd suggest they might hand out free condoms and contraceptive pills as well.
