IREBON, West Java: The northern railway network was disrupted Saturday following the derailment of the Argo Sindoro in Haurgeulis, in Indramayu regency.
The train was travelling from Jakarta to Semarang, Central Java, when it derailed at 7 p.m, affecting three of its eight executive carriages.
Two of the carriages ended up askew across the rails, making it difficult to clear.
No fatalities were reported from the incident, but it suspended traffic for up to three hours.
"Trains were *also* held up for up to three hours," PT Kereta Api Indonesia Cirebon spokesman Rudi Effendi said Sunday.
This was the second railway incident in Indramayu in the past past few weeks. The Tegal Arum Train heading for Tegal, Central Java, derailed on March 9, causing a four-hour traffic jam. -JP
