euku Zacky didn’t think twice when he was offered a role in a local production on US President Barack Obama — even though the offer was to impersonate a transvestite.

In the movie Obama Anak Menteng (Obama the Menteng Boy), Zacky said he would play Turdi, Obama’s family trusted man when they lived in Jakarta in the 1970s. Turdi, according to Zacky, was a transvestite who took care of little Obama.
“I didn’t think twice when I was offered the role,” said Zacky as quoted by newsportal detik.com. “The movie has a strong and good storyline, and is perfectly timed as it will hit the theater when Obama [is scheduled to] visit [Jakarta] in June,” he added.
Zacky, who’s currently completing some shoots for the movie in Bandung, West Java, said he was a big fan of Obama and had read many books about the president.
“He’s such a humble leader. A very low profile US president who is very respectful of Muslims,” Zacky said.
Obama Anak Menteng is produced by Raam Punjabi and directed by Damien Dematra.
The movie features 15-year-old American-born Hasan Faruq Ali, who plays the role of young Obama.
Hasan is the son of Islamic music group Debu’s member, who has been living in Indonesia for 10 years.
