MEDAN: North Sumatra University sociologist Badaruddin has urged the government to block pornographic websites permanently, and not just during Ramadan
EDAN: North Sumatra University sociologist Badaruddin has urged the government to block pornographic websites permanently, and not just during Ramadan.
“It is expected that the porn sites will no longer appear in Indonesia ... after Ramadan,” Badaruddin said in Medan, North Sumatra, on Monday evening as quoted by Antara news agency.
Badaruddin made the remarks in response to a recent statement by Communications and IT Minister Tifatul Sembiring that up to 4 million porn sites would be blocked as soon as possible.
Badaruddin said the closure of the sites would enable students to use the Internet to search for learning materials related to their assignments. — JP
