pple Coal Jakarta Cricket Association (JCA) League 2010-2011 teams conceded to sharing points this weekend as rain prevented full completion of games in Karawaci and Cibubur.

In Karawaci, Menara and Senayan shared six points each. Put into bat first, Menara were well placed at 98/3 in 24 overs before being all out for 150. Mahesh Thandani topped the scoring with 29, just above Harshad Bhat’s 27. Ashit Mehta was the most successful bowler claiming four wickets, and was supported by teammates Amar Kapadia and Rajeev who took two wickets each.

“Yogesh and Sandeep helped us recover from a middle order collapse to end up at 150 after being 109/8,” Menara captain Deepak Khullar said. Needing 151 for victory, Senayan were 13 without loss in two overs when rain prevented further play.

In another match in Cibubur, Rebels were denied certain victory when rain interrupted their run chase. Rebels were 60/1 in 12 overs when play was suspended, forcing both teams to split points. Batting first, Challengers crumbled to 100 all out in 22 overs against Martin Eddy’s tight bowling. Ganesh’s 67 runs was the Challengers only saving grace.

“We would have won the match if play was possible for just three more overs. The rain spoiled it,” Rebels captain Martin Eddy said. — JP
