EDAN, North Sumatra: A House of Representatives legislator has urged the Judicial Mafia Eradication Task Force to investigate the practices of a real estate syndicate which allegedly involves a number of government officials in North Sumatra.
“I have evidence of ‘land mafia’ practices in a number of areas in North Sumatra, some of which involve government officials, including those from the National Land Agency [BPN],” North Sumatra legislator Rahmat Saleh said in Medan Friday.
According to Rahmat, the task force must deploy a team to settle the issues to prevent land disputes, most of which normally cause the most damage to low-income residents. — JP
