BOGOR, West Java: Actress and producer Christine Hakim received an award at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards in Australia, documentary film director Ricky Avenzora said.Ricky, who accompanied Christine to the awards ceremony, said Thursday that she received the International Federation of Film Producers Association award for “Outstanding Achievement in Film in the Asia Pacific Region”.
An ecotourism lecturer at the Bogor Institute of Agriculture, Ricky directed the documentary Mak Itam and Me, which stars Christine.
He said the Film Producers Association of Australia general manager Geoff Brown presented the award to Christine.
Ricky added that Christine, in her capacity as a UNESCO ambassador, presented UNESCO’s best film selection.
Two Indonesians were also present at the awards, Salman Aristo and Nan T. Achnas, Ricky said. — JP
