Letter: Killing in Mohmand Agency

T

he recent killing of more than 70 people in Mohmand Agency Pakistan in a single day proved that the recent strategy of the government of Pakistan has failed to provide desire in the region.

In the month of July more than 100 people lost their lives in a market bombing in the same area. The government is trying to face militancy through tribal forces or lushkers and providing them weapons and all the support they need.

Now through these forces houses belong to militants families are destroying and people are forcing to leave their areas. Everything is happening in the area where revenge culture is part of their daily lives.

According to recent news, the Mohmand blast targets were local tribal elders who had created a tribal force against militants, but in the revenge suicide attack several security personals also lost their lives and 70 innocent people also paid a heavy price and lost their lives.

On the same day a US drone strike killed more than eight people in the same region. Unfortunately, despite the daily sacrifices, killings of innocent people in suicide attacks, and US drone attacks in Pakistan, the country has not been able to get the attention of the world community. After the killing of a large number of people in Pakistan, the world community is still sitting silent and seeing everything with a blind eye.

Only days ago US President Barrak Obama went to the Taj Hotel in Bombay to pay tribute to the people who were killed in the 2008 Bombay attacks, but he did not say a single word after the killing of the 70 innocent people who lost their lives one day ago at the Darra Adam Khel Mosque in Pakistan.
