AKARTA: State railway operator PT KAI plans to provide 15 air-conditioned buses to assist in transporting travelers using its Jakarta-Bogor line, which is undergoing necessary track work on Wednesday.
However, Bogor station chief Rochman said there were currently only seven buses available.
“Three of the buses are serving as shuttle buses from Gambir station to the Sudirman area,” he said on Wednesday as quoted by kompas.com.
He added that travelers hoping to use the buses would have to pay Rp 10,000 (US$1.13), which is slightly more than the Jakarta-Bogor electric train (KRL) commuter service tickets, which cost Rp 7,000.
Earlier, PT KAI said it had canceled more than 29 scheduled train services starting on Wednesday until Nov. 29, to accommodate an upgrade of three electrical substations along the line.
