Chong Wei gives his racket for auction

J

akarta: Lee Yong Dae donated his T-shirt to a good cause last month. On Thursday, it was Lee Chong Wei’s turn.

The legendary Malaysian player has given away his racket for an auction to support Solibad — Badminton without Borders.

Lee donated his racket, an Amortec 900 from Yonex that he used to finish the World Championships in 2010, just weeks before the start of the Olympic Games in London.

The auction will be held online on Ebay and is slated to finish on May 12.

It is not the first item Lee has pitched in to help Solibad, which raises money to help professional and amateur players of the sport across the world.

The Malaysian previously donated the jersey he wore in the final match of the 2011 World championships, which sold for more than US$1,000.
