AKARTA: Indonesia’s largest private lender, Bank Central Asia (BCA), in partnership with Singapore Airlines, launched on Thursday two credit cards to cater to premium frequent flyers: the BCA Singapore Airlines PPS Club Visa Infinite and the KrisFlyer Visa Signature cards.
The launch marks the first time an Indonesian bank has partnered with Singapore Airlines to issue co-brand credit cards. BCA had previously partnered with French giant retailer Carrefour to issue co-brand credit cards between 2008 and 2010.
“The cooperation between BCA, Singapore Airlines and Visa is a key milestone in positioning the BCA brand as a global financial player,” BCA president director, Jahja Setiaatmadja, said during the launch.
The credit cards will allow holders to earn miles directly based on how much they spend on the cards. Cardholders will also be offered discounts at preferred merchants, such as top-of-the-range restaurants, shopping centers and exclusive holiday destinations.
BCA is looking to attract 5,000 new customers from the co-brand credit cards this year, according to Jahja. Currently, there are 2.2 million BCA credit card holders, a figure that BCA aims to increase to 2.5 million this year.
