he Tillemans Catholic Education and School Foundation in Timika, Papua, has said it still needs more teachers for assignment on a contract basis in the regency of Mimika.
Foundation chairman Paul Weti said that since 2006, the foundation has cooperated with the Amungme and Kamoro Community Development Institution to pay salaries of 50 contract teachers for 27 elementary schools in Mimika.
“More teachers are still needed although the number of teachers in the list is more than enough,” Paul said on Wednesday.
However, many of the teachers, especially those who came from state schools who had the status of civil servants, had failed to meet their contracts, he added. — Antara
