lectric-powered commuter trains, known as KRLs, will not stop at Gambir and Senen train stations as the number of people at both stations using the trains to travel between Jakarta and their hometowns is still high.
“We predict this will continue until the end of this month,” Mateta Rizalulhaq, spokesman for state train operator PT KAI’s Greater Jakarta operational area, said as quoted by tempo.co on Thursday.
He said that during the exodus period, the two stations were the main departure points for economy and business trains, making it hard for KRLs to stop at the stations. “However, we anticipated this and extended commuter trains’ operating hours.”
