rosecutors demanded on Thursday that the West Jakarta District Court sentence Afriyani Susanti, who ran over 13 pedestrians in Gambir, Central Jakarta, on Jan. 22, to three years in prison.
“Based on statements from witnesses and tests, the defendant was driving under the influence of drugs,” prosecutor Tamalia Roza told the court, kompas.com reported.
She was tested positive for consuming alcohol and ecstasy pills before driving.
Presiding judge Aswandi adjourned the trial until Nov. 19 to hear Afriyani’s defense statement.
Afriyani has already been sentenced to 15 years in prison for reckless driving resulting in multiple deaths.
